ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police conducted large-scale search operations across the city, following directives from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, in an effort to curb criminal activities and enhance security measures. The operations, which were supervised by zonal SPs, focused on various sectors within the federal capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the search and combing operations were conducted in the jurisdictions of multiple police stations. During these operations, authorities checked 1,164 individuals, 679 houses, 113 shops, 63 hotels, 426 motorcycles, and 164 vehicles. As a result, 85 suspicious persons and 47 motorcycles were taken to police stations for further legal proceedings. Additionally, accused individuals involved in drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons were arrested, with crystal meth and one pistol with ammunition recovered.
Qazi Ali Raza, SSP Operations Islamabad, stated that the main goal of these operations is to enhance the security framework of the city by tightening the security cordon around criminal elements. He reiterated that the Islamabad Police will continue to take action against criminals, land grabbers, and drug traffickers without discrimination. Raza also urged citizens to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activity through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15”.
