ISLAMABAD: In a recent crackdown on criminal activities, Islamabad Police have successfully arrested 21 individuals and seized a cache of drugs and weapons. The operation, conducted by teams from multiple police stations, underscores the ongoing efforts to maintain security in the region.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, teams from Shalimar, Sangjani, Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Noon, Khanna, Lohi Bher, Phulgran, and Shahzad Town police stations apprehended 12 suspects linked to various criminal activities. The operation resulted in the recovery of 650 grams of hashish, 772 grams of heroin, and 10 pistols with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the apprehended individuals, with investigations continuing to uncover further details.
In addition to these arrests, a targeted campaign aimed at capturing proclaimed offenders and absconders led to the detention of nine more individuals. This initiative aligns with the directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has emphasized a robust approach to combating crime and ensuring the safety of the federal capital’s residents.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and maintaining public peace. He urged residents to report any suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” highlighting the importance of community cooperation in crime prevention.
