Islamabad Police Arrests 36, Seizes Drugs and Weapons in Crime Crackdown


ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to curb criminal activities, Islamabad Police have apprehended 36 individuals and seized a significant quantity of drugs and weapons, authorities reported. The arrests and recoveries were made as part of an ongoing campaign to enhance safety and security in the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation led to the detention of 20 individuals engaged in various criminal acts. Police confiscated 2,740 grams of hashish, 1,451 grams of Ice, 570 grams of heroin, 208 bottles of liquor, as well as two rifles, two Kalashnikovs, and five pistols. Legal proceedings have been initiated against those apprehended, with investigations currently in progress.



The crackdown also included a special initiative targeting proclaimed offenders and fugitives, resulting in the capture of 16 additional suspects. This campaign aligns with directives issued by Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who emphasized the police’s commitment to maintaining peace and order.



SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police force’s dedication to safeguarding the community’s well-being and urged residents to report suspicious activities through established channels, including the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline. The police continue to encourage collaboration with the public to effectively combat crime across the city.
