Islamabad PM Kakar Affirms Pakistan’s Dedication to SAARC Amidst Regional Challenges

Islamabad, In a message marking the 39th SAARC Charter Day, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar has reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) process. He expressed confidence that existing impediments to the organization’s smooth operation will be overcome, paving the way for enhanced regional cooperation among member states.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of SAARC Charter Day as a reminder of the collective responsibility towards addressing common regional challenges, including poverty, illiteracy, disease, and under-development.

Anwaar ul Haq Kakar highlighted Pakistan’s role as a founding member of SAARC, noting its consistent commitment to the organization’s objectives and active participation in its processes and activities. He emphasized Pakistan’s belief in the power of regional cooperation for national and regional development, stressing that effective regional collaboration can only be realized through adherence to the principles of sovereign equality and mutual respect, fundamental tenets of the SAARC Charter.

The Prime Minister called for collective efforts to unlock the region’s full potential for the benefit of South Asia and the global community. His message reinforces Pakistan’s position as a committed member of SAARC, advocating for cooperation and unity in addressing regional challenges.
