IGP Islamabad Reviews Security Measures and Technology Use in Commanders Conference


ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi conducted a comprehensive review of the city’s security measures and public facilitation projects at a Commanders Conference. The meeting, attended by senior police officials, focused on crime prevention strategies, the use of technology, and public service initiatives in the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, IGP Rizvi received in-depth briefings on various aspects of police operations, including anti-crime measures, the expansion of the Safe City Project, and advancements in IT-based policing. He emphasized the importance of protecting life and property, enforcing the law effectively, and maintaining public trust as top priorities for the police force.



IGP Rizvi instructed an intensified crackdown on criminal activities, targeting drug dealers, land grabbers, and other anti-social elements. He highlighted the need for enhanced patrolling, checkpoints, and security measures for sensitive locations, ensuring the safety of diplomatic missions and public areas.



Special instructions were given to the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad to optimize the modern traffic management system to improve traffic flow and reduce road accidents. The IGP also called for the rapid completion of the Safe City expansion, the installation of advanced surveillance systems, and the implementation of IT initiatives to boost public service delivery.



Stressing the importance of coordination and professional discipline, IGP Rizvi reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and negligence. He outlined plans for improving police welfare, including better working conditions and training to enhance performance and professionalism.



Concluding the conference, IGP Rizvi underscored the need for citizen-friendly policing and merit-based actions to bolster public confidence in the police force, aiming to make Islamabad a model of safety and modernity.
