IGP Islamabad Orders Crackdown on Criminal Activities at Crime Review Meeting


Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi convened a significant crime review meeting at the Central Police Office, emphasizing a robust crackdown on criminal elements. The gathering, attended by key police officials, including the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Station House Officers (SHOs) from various precincts, focused on assessing the crime landscape and enhancing law enforcement strategies.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the IGP directed officers to undertake uncompromising actions against individuals involved in severe crimes, those possessing illegal firearms, drug traffickers, and organized crime syndicates. He underscored the necessity for merit-based, transparent, and professional investigative practices to ensure the delivery of equitable justice to the citizens.



The IGP also mandated accountability for SHOs in the event of criminal incidents within their jurisdictions and instructed daily open courts to address public grievances efficiently. He reiterated the Islamabad Police’s commitment to utilizing all resources for safeguarding lives and properties, preventing crimes, and sustaining peace.



In a subsequent meeting with the DIG, the focus shifted to enhancing security measures, police training, and capacity-building, particularly in preparation for Muharram-ul-Haram. The IGP stressed the importance of vigilance and comprehensive security protocols to protect citizens.



Under the “Open Door Policy,” IGP Rizvi also conducted an open court session, directly addressing issues raised by citizens and police personnel, reinforcing the policy’s role in resolving public concerns promptly and effectively.
