Miranshah: Twenty-one militants associated with the Indian-backed group Fitna-Al-Khwarij were killed in a series of operations conducted by security forces in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province from September 3 to September 5, 2026. The operations were part of ongoing efforts to prevent cross-border terrorism along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the operations followed an earlier engagement on the night of August 31 to September 1, 2026, in North Waziristan District. This engagement resulted in the deaths of ten militants who were attempting to infiltrate the region, bringing the total number of neutralized militants to twenty-five. In a subsequent encounter in North Waziristan, security forces detected and engaged another group of militants, resulting in seven additional deaths.

Further operations in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khel Districts led to the neutralization of four more militants. These incidents have highlighted Pakistan’s concerns about the Afghan Taliban Regime’s inability to prevent the use of Afghan territory for terrorist activities. Pakistan has criticized the regime for failing to manage the border effectively and to meet international counter-terrorism obligations.

Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to defending the nation’s borders, with ongoing sanitization operations aimed at eliminating any remaining militants. The operations are part of a broader counter-terrorism campaign under the “Azm e Istehkam” initiative, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. The campaign seeks to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
