ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has announced a series of technology-driven initiatives aimed at enhancing public safety and crime prevention in the federal capital. The directives were issued during a pivotal meeting held at the Central Police Office Islamabad, attended by senior police officials, including DIGs and SSPs.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting involved an extensive review of the current law and order situation, security arrangements, crime control measures, traffic management, and ongoing public facilitation projects. Key targets and responsibilities with specific timelines were assigned to relevant officers to address these areas effectively.
IGP Rizvi emphasized the importance of coordination and professionalism among officers to improve crime prevention efforts and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property. He highlighted the role of modern technology, timely response, and effective monitoring systems in enhancing law and order.
Officers were instructed to focus on the resolution of citizens’ complaints, enhance the patrolling system, and manage traffic flow efficiently. Discussions during the meeting also covered the expansion of Safe City projects, the installation of modern cameras, digital monitoring systems, and IT-based smart policing initiatives.
Rizvi reiterated the necessity of utilizing modern technology to monitor criminal activities and provide a secure environment for citizens. A subsequent meeting with the Director of IT further explored public safety technical initiatives under the Safe City project, aiming to upgrade monitoring systems and promote digital governance for improved police services.
