Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani Reaffirms Commitment to Eradicating Child Labour

Islamabad: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, on the International Day Against Child Labour, reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and future of every child. Gilani emphasized the urgent need to eradicate child labour, highlighting its detrimental impact on millions of children deprived of education and basic opportunities.

According to Senate of Pakistan, Gilani stated that child labour continues to pose a severe challenge, compromising children’s education, health, and development. He stressed that no child should be subjected to labour at the cost of their education and personal growth. Gilani reiterated the importance of providing every child with a safe environment and quality education to become empowered citizens.

Gilani acknowledged the progress Pakistan has made in child welfare but noted that sustained efforts are essential to completely eliminate child labour. He emphasized the role of Parliament and lawmakers in enacting legislation and policies that protect children and foster educational and developmental opportunities.

In his message, Gilani called for collective action to create a Pakistan free from child exploitation and to ensure that every child has the chance to realize their full potential, underscoring the belief that a society that protects its children secures its future.
