ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested 16 individuals in a crackdown on criminal activity, recovering drugs and weapons in the process. The operation resulted in the apprehension of nine suspects involved in various criminal activities, with significant quantities of drugs and firearms seized.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, officers confiscated 1,450 grams of heroin, 415 grams of Ice, one rifle, and four pistols along with ammunition from the detained suspects. Legal proceedings have been initiated against them, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further details.
As part of a dedicated campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams successfully arrested an additional seven individuals. The initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasizing an intensified effort to curb crime and ensure security in the federal capital.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police’s commitment to safeguarding the community, stressing that disrupting public peace will not be tolerated. The police encourage residents to report any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster a collaborative effort between law enforcement and the community in combating crime.
