Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem convened a meeting with police employees and their families at the Central Police Office, where he addressed various concerns and issued directives for immediate relief. According to Punjab Police, the meeting included discussions on recruitment, transfers, and promotions, with specific cases highlighted for further review.
The widow of the late Inspector Ghulam Ibn Ali requested the recruitment of her son, prompting IG Punjab to instruct the Additional IG Punjab to consider the matter. Similarly, the son of late Constable Mujahid Abbas’s recruitment request was directed to the DIG Welfare and Finance for relief. Transfer requests, such as that of Head Constable Muhammad Irfan, were also addressed, with instructions issued to the Additional IG Punjab.
In addition, the IG Punjab responded to a request for the promotion of eight senior traffic wardens, issuing directives to the DIG Headquarters. The case of Shaheed Constable Tanveer Abbas’s brother, seeking recruitment under the Shaheed quota, was also set for consideration by the Additional IG Punjab. The mother of former Sub-Inspector Waqar Ahmad sought job restoration, leading to instructions for relief directed to the RPO Gujranwala. Other applications related to discipline, administration, promotion, and welfare were also acted upon by IG Punjab Abdul Kareem.
