Hurriyat Leaders Urge Peaceful Negotiations for Kashmir Dispute

SRINAGAR, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders have voiced their concerns over the increasing instances of state terrorism by India in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They have emphasized the importance of addressing the Kashmir dispute through peaceful negotiations.

According to Kashmir Media Service, various APHC leaders, including Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Abdul Ahad, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Advocate Arshad Iqbal, Devinder Singh Behl, Narender Singh, Mir Shahid Saleem, and Maulana Musaib Nadvi, have individually issued statements urging India to reflect upon the teachings of their founding fathers. These leaders recognized Kashmir as a political dispute that requires dialogues involving the primary stakeholders.

These leaders lamented that the citizens of occupied Jammu and Kashmir are subjected to mounting injustice and discrimination under the governance of the Narendra Modi-led Indian government, with increasing episodes of oppression and violence. The Modi administration, they added, continues to violate the rights of the people in the region.

Furthermore, the statements addressed the longstanding denial of justice for the Kashmiris, attributing it to India’s stubborn stance on the Kashmir issue and a partial Indian judiciary.

The leaders expressed that the global community’s silence only emboldens the Modi administration’s repressive actions against Kashmiris. They appealed to the international community to heed the pleas of the oppressed Kashmiris and address the enduring dispute according to globally recognized principles of justice, marking it as the sole path to cease the bloodshed in IIOJK.
