Human rights violations by Indian troops in held Kashmir denounced

Srinagar, September 15, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Democratic Political Movement (DPM), Kashmir Freedom Front (KFF) and Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement (JKEM) have strongly denounced the human rights violations by Indian troops in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the DPM Chairman Khawaja Firdous, the KFF Chairman Syed Bashir Andrabi and JKEM’s Junaid-ul-Islam in a joint statement issued in Srinagar deplored that the Indian forces in the occupied territory had intensified the siege and search operations to suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmiris.

They said cordon and search operations have become a routine in IIOJK and Indian troops even do not spare children and women during raids. They said India has virtually turned Jammu and Kashmir into a military camp. The army of so-called big democracy is involved in massive human rights violations in occupied Kashmir, they lamented.

The Hurriyat leaders said the Kashmiri people completely reject the illegal occupation of India and the illegal and unilateral actions of August 5, 2019 by Modi-led Indian regime when the special status of IIOJK was repealed and military siege was imposed in the territory.

They urged the world community and international human rights organizations to play their role in ending the ongoing oppression and resolve the Kashmir dispute according to the United Nations resolutions so that the Kashmiri people could also decide their own destiny.
