Gwadar, An enlightening seminar titled “Role of Students in Eradication of Corruption” was conducted at the University of Turbat, in a collaborative effort with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Balochistan. The event aimed to galvanize students into action against corruption and to instill a culture of integrity and accountability in society.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the seminar featured prominent speakers including Dr. Mohammad Rashid from NAB Gwadar, Registrar of Jamia Turbat Ganzar Baluch, and seminar focal person Amjad Habib. They addressed the urgent need for corruption eradication and highlighted the influential role of the youth in fostering societal change. Dr. Rashid elaborated on the necessity of an effective anti-corruption strategy and the importance of societal participation in these efforts. He outlined NAB’s mandate, its strategic actions, and its achievements in combating corruption since its inception.
The event stressed the crucial role of students in combating corruption, urging them to lead by example in promoting transparency and ethical conduct. The seminar also included a question and answer session, providing a platform for attendees to engage directly with NAB officials, offering suggestions and gaining insights into the anti-corruption process.
The seminar culminated in the swearing-in ceremony of the members of the newly established Character Building Society at Jamia Turbat, where students pledged to work towards a corruption-free society. The event concluded with a collective commitment to uphold the principle that “self-accountability is the best accountability.”
