Gunvor Group Endorses Pakistan’s Oil Price Deregulation Initiative


Islamabad: A delegation from Gunvor Group, a Switzerland-based global energy trading company, met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Ahad Cheema, to discuss potential collaboration in the nation’s energy and petroleum sectors. The meeting highlighted the government’s commitment to modernizing oil refineries and efforts to deregulate oil prices.



According to Press Information Department, the delegation included Shahb Richyal, Global Head of Portfolio; Seth Thomas Pietras, Corporate Affairs Director; and Kashif Mayo, Head of Corporate Affairs. They expressed support for the government’s initiatives, particularly the proposed oil price deregulation aimed at fostering a competitive and efficient petroleum market.



Minister Cheema emphasized the government’s strategy to upgrade oil refineries and the importance of reforming Pakistan State Oil. The Gunvor Group officials acknowledged the government’s effective management of fuel supplies during the recent Gulf crisis and announced Parco Gunvor Limited’s expansion plans in Pakistan. Both parties committed to ongoing cooperation to enhance Pakistan’s energy security and economic development.
