Karachi, Governor Sindh, Kamran Khan Tesori, has inaugurated the Ethiopian Tourism Desk at Beach View Park, Clifton, in a move to bolster tourism ties between Ethiopia and Pakistan. The inauguration was attended by Ethiopian Ambassador Jamal Baker Abdullah, Honorary Consul General Ibrahim Khalid Tawab, and various dignitaries from Karachi.
According to Sindh Governor House, reveals that the Governor expressed his gratitude to Mr. Jamal Baker Abdullah for the invitation to the opening ceremony. Governor Tesori sees this initiative as a significant step in promoting tourism and believes it will be mutually beneficial for both countries. He also expressed optimism that the recent efforts by the Army Chief have restored the confidence of industrialists and overseas Pakistanis.
Governor Tesori highlighted the potential for other international airlines to follow Ethiopian Airlines and Taban Air in starting flights from Karachi. He also emphasized the role of Ethiopian Airlines in boosting tourism.
The Governor pointed out that Sindh province offers favorable investment opportunities and that tourism significantly impacts social, cultural, and economic conditions. He noted tourism’s ability to create employment and increase exports.
Governor Tesori also mentioned that Sindh’s beaches, Gorakh Hill, the Thar desert, and Mohenjo Daro are prime tourist destinations, underscoring the region’s potential in attracting tourists from around the world.
This initiative marks an important development in enhancing tourism and cultural exchange between Ethiopia and Pakistan, reflecting the growing ties and cooperation between the two nations.
