Finance Minister Engages Electric Fan Industry on Exports and Energy Efficiency


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb engaged in a virtual meeting with representatives from the electric fan industry, discussing challenges, export potential, and policy support to enhance sectoral growth.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting was attended by members of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Pakistan Electric Fan Manufacturers Association (PEFMA). The Finance Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to sector-specific consultations to support industry growth. Discussions highlighted the industry’s employment contributions, export footprint, and transition towards energy-efficient technologies. The Finance Minister emphasized the need for better coordination with financial institutions to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient initiatives.



The discussions also covered access to finance for capacity expansion and structural matters affecting the sector, such as the availability of key raw materials. The need for a balanced approach to promoting domestic value-added manufacturing was emphasized. Ongoing reforms targeting input cost rationalization and market competitiveness were also deliberated.



The Finance Minister underscored the importance of sustainable export growth through competitiveness, access to finance, and energy efficiency. He encouraged ongoing engagement between industry and government stakeholders to develop forward-looking proposals. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the government’s commitment to supporting value-added manufacturing and export-oriented sectors.
