Federal and Balochistan Governments Discuss Solar Energy Solutions for Agricultural Wells


Islamabad, In a pivotal meeting aimed at addressing Balochistan’s agricultural and energy challenges, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal discussed strategies for converting agricultural tube wells to solar energy. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance the well-being of Balochistan’s residents, particularly its farming community.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting, which also included Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Owais Leghari and other high-ranking officials, focused on the rapid implementation of solar energy solutions to alleviate the electricity shortages plaguing the province’s farmers. Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti emphasized the critical need for improving power supply to boost agricultural productivity and suggested that solar tube wells could significantly benefit the sector.



The discussions also covered the pressing issue of electricity theft, with plans laid out for a public awareness campaign and stricter legal actions against those involved in such activities. The leaders are committed to ensuring a smooth transition to solar energy, marking a significant step toward sustainable development in Balochistan.
