New Delhi: Awami Ittehad Party President and Baramulla MP Engineer Abdul Rasheed has appealed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to initiate a dialogue process to address the ongoing political uncertainty and alienation in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking in the Indian Parliament, Engineer Rasheed challenged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s assertion of a “clear sky” in Kashmir, arguing that only a meaningful dialogue can resolve the prevailing tensions.
Rashid highlighted that governance and the rights of Kashmiris should not be neglected, even as he remains incarcerated. He urged Prime Minister Modi to consider the welfare of the people in his constituency, which encompasses 18 assembly segments, as Modi plans to visit Kashmir for the inauguration of the Katra-Baramulla railway.
The appeal comes as Kashmir continues to face political challenges, with Rashid emphasizing the necessity of dialogue to ensure the rights and well-being of the Kashmiri people.
