Karachi, The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has established an online facilitation center at its Secretariat, aimed at assisting Returning Officers in the scrutiny of nomination papers. This initiative is part of the ECP’s efforts to streamline and improve the efficiency of the electoral process.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the ECP’s spokesman stated that the online facilitation center operates round-the-clock and is supported by several key institutions, including the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), National Accountability Bureau, Federal Investigation Agency, Federal Board of Revenue, and State Bank of Pakistan. These collaborations are intended to ensure a thorough and efficient scrutiny process.
The data of candidates received from Returning Officers is being forwarded to these institutions for necessary verification and action. Furthermore, the Election Commission has notified concerned authorities, including the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), to obtain the lists of candidates from the Returning Officers to facilitate this process.
