KARACHI: Malik Tahir Javaid, President of the Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP), will represent Pakistani employers at the 353rd Governing Body Meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva. The session is set to address critical policy decisions impacting the global workforce.
According to Employers’ Federation of Pakistan, the ILO Governing Body acts as the executive body where representatives from governments, workers, and employers convene to discuss essential policy matters. This year, the agenda includes budget proposals for 2026-2027, assessments of strategic outcomes under various programs, and deliberations on promoting decent work within the global supply chain.
Javaid is also scheduled to meet with the International Organization of Employers (IOE) to emphasize Pakistani employers’ adherence to international labor standards. His discussions will focus on supporting the global accelerator program for job creation and social protection. Additionally, he aims to promote human rights due diligence and social justice.
During the meeting, Javaid will present the EFP’s initiatives on gender equality and social justice. He will also discuss the advancement of Sustainable Development Goals through the Pakistan Business Taskforce on UNSDCF, a tripartite platform.
