Muzaffarabad: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has emerged as the leading party in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections, securing a simple majority. This development was announced by Attaullah Tarar, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, who highlighted the party’s success in the second phase of the elections.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister emphasized that while the PML-N’s victory is met with resistance from political adversaries, it reflects the party’s commitment to development and public service. Tarar noted that the electoral process witnessed enthusiastic participation from the public, who voted based on the party’s performance record.

The minister acknowledged the vibrant political activity during the election campaign, recognizing political rivalry as a natural element of democracy. He called for patience, tolerance, and mutual respect in political discourse, rejecting allegations made by Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon as unfounded.

Tarar urged all parties to accept the AJK election results, underscoring the PML-N leadership’s focus on Kashmir’s development. He cited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s congratulatory gesture towards the Pakistan Peoples’ Party for its success in Gilgit-Baltistan as a positive democratic example.
