Islamabad: Pakistan’s economic environment remains stable, with the private sector showing increased activity and borrowing more from the banking sector, according to Khurram Schehzad, Adviser to the Finance Minister. In a recent discussion on Radio Pakistan’s News and Current Affairs Channel’s program “Perspective,” Schehzad highlighted the expanding operations of private businesses as a sign of economic growth.

According to Radio Pakistan, Schehzad underscored that the country’s economic outlook has seen an upgrade from several rating agencies, shifting from stable to positive. This change is attributed to restored investor confidence. Schehzad expressed optimism about the direction of the economy, suggesting that the current trend in economic activities will yield positive results in the near future.

He further elaborated on the sectors leading this growth, noting that the textile and food industries are obtaining significant funding to enhance their operations. This expansion is geared towards increasing exports and meeting the demands of the domestic market.
