Efforts to Enhance Economic Growth in Pakistan: Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad

Karachi, Caretaker Minister of Finance Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has emphasized the government’s comprehensive efforts to boost Pakistan’s economic growth rate.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a recent interview with a private TV channel, Dr. Akhtar highlighted initiatives to reduce debt stress and circular debt. She stressed the need for reducing borrowing and improving public sector efficiency. The minister mentioned that institutional reforms are crucial for tackling current challenges. Dr. Akhtar also discussed plans for privatizing non-profit entities and introducing a Sukuk Bond scheme through the Stock Exchange. On the topic of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, she noted Pakistan’s potential to connect globally through the Belt and Road initiative.
