Lahore, Dr. Kausar Abdullah Malik, the Caretaker Minister for National Food Security, has announced that the government is actively working to enhance food security in the country. Speaking at a Round Table Conference in Lahore, he outlined the various measures being implemented, as reported by the Ministry of Information Broadcasting & National Heritage.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, These measures include increasing agricultural production, improving the irrigation system, promoting modern farming techniques, and providing subsidies to farmers. Dr. Malik also highlighted the government’s efforts to address challenges like water scarcity, climate change, and post-harvest losses. Additionally, the government is focusing on improving seed quality, implementing climate-smart agriculture practices, and strengthening agricultural extension services.
