DFP Calls for Global Action Against Violence in Kashmir

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has issued a strong condemnation of the violence and killings perpetrated by Indian forces in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, calling for international intervention to halt the bloodshed.

According to Kashmir Media Service, DFP spokesperson Advocate Arshad Iqbal highlighted recent fatal incidents involving Kashmiri youth in the Kulgam and Kathua districts as evidence that contradicts the Indian government’s claims of normalcy in the region. Iqbal accused Indian forces of engaging in staged encounters to systematically eliminate young Kashmiris, describing these acts as part of a broader strategy to instill fear and suppress the local population’s aspirations for independence.

“The unabated killings and extrajudicial executions represent a deliberate attempt by the Indian forces to terrorize the Kashmiri community,” Iqbal stated, urging the global community to recognize the severe human rights abuses occurring in the region. He emphasized that the continuing violence, which has resulted in over 96,347 deaths since 1989, starkly violates international norms and the principles of human dignity.

Iqbal’s call to action seeks to rally international support against what he describes as India’s brutal campaign to quell the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, a conflict that has persisted for 77 years. He asserted that the cessation of Indian occupation is imperative for the cessation of the Kashmiri people’s suffering.
