Islamabad: The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, expressed appreciation for Mohamed Yahya, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Pakistan, during a farewell meeting held in Islamabad. Senator Dar acknowledged Yahya’s efforts in bolstering cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations and commended the achievements of the UN Country Team under his leadership.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting also served as an opportunity for the Deputy Prime Minister to congratulate Yahya on his new appointment as Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Yahya, in turn, expressed gratitude to Senator Dar and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their support during his tenure and conveyed his intention to maintain strong collaborative ties with Pakistan in his upcoming role.
