New York: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reached New York to partake in the United Nations Security Council’s high-level meeting centered on ‘Practicing Multilateralism: Reforming and Improving Global Governance,’ set for Tuesday.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dar was warmly welcomed at the airport by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Munir Akram. Also present were Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, the Alternate Permanent Representative to the UN, and Amir Atozai, the Consul General in New York.
The meeting of the 15-member UN Security Council will be chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. China currently holds the Council’s rotating presidency for February, providing a platform for discussions on enhancing global governance structures.
