Islamabad: A high-level 11-member Chinese business delegation, led by Qian Xiaojun, Founder and President of IBI Beijing United Technology, met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s House. The delegation’s visit marks a significant moment in the strengthening of business ties between China and Pakistan.
According to Press Information Department, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and China, highlighting their status as All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partners. He acknowledged the progress made by China under President Xi Jinping’s leadership and voiced anticipation for his upcoming visit to China later in the month.
The Prime Minister welcomed IBI Group’s initiative to establish its Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters in the country, noting the positive impact on business-to-business cooperation. He emphasized the potential for growth in digital economy cooperation, investment facilitation, and industrial collaboration.
Qian Xiaojun voiced confidence in Pakistan’s economic prospects, stating that IBI aims to contribute to the digital transformation of the country’s economy. He described the new headquarters as a command center for this transformation, offering small and medium-sized enterprises in Pakistan access to the expansive Chinese market.
The delegation’s visit follows the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference held in Beijing in September 2025. The meeting was attended by several key Pakistani officials, including Federal Ministers Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Jam Kamal Khan, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, and Ali Pervez Malik, as well as SAPM Haroon Akhtar and Tariq Fatemi.
