Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal announced the launch of Quantum Valley Pakistan, an initiative aimed at advancing technological innovation and fostering a knowledge-driven economy. Describing the launch as a pivotal step for Pakistan, Iqbal emphasized the importance of equipping the nation’s youth with modern technology to enhance their global competitiveness.

According to Press Information Department, the launch ceremony was attended by notable figures including Tim Rowe, CEO of Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC); Dougan Sherwood, Partner at CIC; and Seena Amidi, Managing Partner of Plug and Play. During the event, two strategic agreements were signed to bolster Pakistan’s technological collaboration. The agreements, between CIC and Quantum Valley Pakistan and Plug and Play and Quantum Valley Pakistan, are designed to strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem and support high-tech business development.

Iqbal highlighted the demographic advantage of Pakistan, noting that the country’s youth possess significant talent and potential. He underscored the need for a robust technology ecosystem to harness this potential and propel Pakistan towards becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2035 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. The minister also stressed the importance of increasing exports and achieving economic sovereignty, drawing parallels to Pakistan’s past achievements in becoming a nuclear power.

The launch of Quantum Valley Pakistan is seen as a critical move towards integrating Pakistani youth into global technology and innovation hubs, providing a platform for startups and fostering high-tech business growth. Iqbal reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming young Pakistanis from job seekers to innovators and leaders in the fields of knowledge and technology.
