Islamabad: As part of ongoing stakeholders’ engagement, delegations from the District Bar Associations of Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, and Sargodha, and the High Court Bar Associations of Bannu and Bahawalpur, met with the Chief Justice of Pakistan at the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The discussions centered on issues related to bar facilities, court infrastructure, digital connectivity, and professional development of the legal community.

According to Press Information Department, the delegations discussed the provision of clean drinking water, solarization of court complexes, establishment of Women Facilitation Centres, bar rooms, plantation, internet connectivity, video-link and e-filing facilities, as well as the creation of e-libraries and training opportunities for lawyers. The Chief Justice engaged the delegations on ongoing judicial reforms and highlighted initiatives by the Supreme Court and the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee to improve access to justice and enhance judicial service delivery.

The Chief Justice stressed the importance of extending facilities, especially in remote and underserved areas, and directed officers to coordinate with authorities to address the issues raised. He also directed liaison with the Forest Department for a plantation drive. The Chief Justice assured the Bar representatives that their concerns would be examined and addressed through coordinated efforts, emphasizing the Bar’s role as a key stakeholder in the justice system and the need for continued cooperation between the Bench and the Bar.
