Karachi, The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has given the green light to five significant development projects, cumulatively worth billions of rupees, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and supporting IT initiatives across Pakistan.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the CDWP meeting, chaired by Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan in Islamabad, approved a range of projects. This includes the up-gradation of the Transmission Network and Replacement of Optical Fiber Cable in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, with a budget exceeding 1.9 billion rupees. This project is expected to significantly improve telecommunications infrastructure in these regions.
Additionally, the CDWP approved the “Prime Ministers Initiatives Support for IT Startups, Specialized IT Trainings and Venture Capital,” a project valued at five billion rupees. This initiative is designed to bolster the IT sector, providing support for startups and specialized training, along with venture capital funding.
The meeting also sanctioned the construction of a facilitation center for litigants and lawyers in Sector G-10/1 Islamabad and the establishment of 93-No District Courts in Mauve Area G-11/4 Islamabad. These projects, costing over four billion rupees, aim to enhance legal infrastructure and services in the capital.
Furthermore, the “Baaikhtiyar Nojwan Internship Program Balochistan,” valued at 1.85 billion rupees, received approval from the CDWP. This program is set to provide internship opportunities and skill development for the youth in Balochistan, contributing to the region’s socio-economic progress.
These projects, approved by the CDWP, represent a significant investment in Pakistan’s infrastructure and development sectors, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing public services and fostering economic growth.
