Caretaker PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar Commits to Investigating Electoral Process Irregularities

Karachi, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has promised thorough and transparent investigations into allegations of hindrances in the electoral process. In a recent interview with a private TV channel, he affirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a free and fair electoral environment where citizens can vote without coercion or exclusion.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Kakar emphasized that the government upholds the principle of political freedom and does not support any policy that sidelines participants from the political process. He addressed concerns regarding the May 9 incidents, stating that those demonstrating disruptive behavior should not hold public office. However, he clarified that decisions regarding the qualification and disqualification of candidates rest with the Election Commission.

Discussing the state’s role, the Prime Minister asserted that it acts as a guarantor of social order, and anyone challenging this order is deemed an anarchist. Regarding the recent protests by Balochistan residents in Islamabad, he acknowledged their right to lawful protest. He also noted that law enforcement agencies would intervene in case of law and order disturbances.

The Prime Minister firmly stated that religious and ethnically inspired violence is unacceptable and reiterated that only the state holds the authority to use force in protecting unarmed civilians. This statement underscores the government’s stance on maintaining peace and order during the electoral process and addressing any issues that may arise.
