PHNOM PENH: Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, during his visit to Cambodia, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet for the hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation. This visit focused on enhancing trade, investment, and diplomatic relations between the two countries.
According to a statement by Press Information Department, Minister Jam Kamal Khan highlighted the potential for collaboration between Pakistan and Cambodia, particularly in trade and investment. He emphasized the importance of increasing business-to-business interactions to build stronger economic ties.
During the discussions, Minister Khan invited Prime Minister Hun Manet to visit Pakistan and stressed the significance of establishing a Cambodian resident mission in Islamabad to further diplomatic and economic relations.
Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the visit and expressed appreciation for the signing of the agreed minutes of the first Joint Trade Committee meeting. He identified textiles and healthcare as promising areas for initial cooperation.
The Prime Minister also noted the global shifts in trade and investment, underscoring opportunities from businesses relocating to new regions. He reaffirmed Cambodia’s interest in strengthening defense cooperation, citing a recent visit by a Cambodian defense delegation to Pakistan.
The process of opening a Cambodian resident mission in Islamabad is underway, which both leaders believe will enhance bilateral ties and promote people-to-people connections. The interaction reflects a shared commitment to advancing mutual interests and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
