ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have arrested 99 criminals and recovered stolen property valued at over Rs. 15 million, officials announced in a recent report.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the report issued by SP City zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain detailed the efforts made by the police in the City zone during the previous month to combat crime. The operations led to the arrest of 13 members from seven criminal gangs involved in robbery, street crime, and theft.

The police employed modern technology, intelligence-based policing, and human intelligence sources to apprehend the suspects. The recovered items include two motorcycles, 13 mobile phones, a laptop, batteries, cash totaling Rs. 400,000, gold ornaments worth over Rs. 9 million, and weapons with ammunition.

SP Dr. Ayaz Hussain also reported that 86 proclaimed offenders, court absconders, and recidivists were apprehended. Legal proceedings are underway, and challans against the accused will be presented in court based on strong evidence. Dr. Hussain affirmed the commitment to continue actions against criminal activities with the same resolve to ensure the safety of citizens.

In a ceremony at the SP City office, Dr. Ayaz Hussain returned the recovered stolen property to its rightful owners. The recipients expressed gratitude for the police’s prompt and professional actions, acknowledging the leadership of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and his team.
