ISLAMABAD: A Cabinet committee has approved amendments to several significant legislative acts, including the FIA Act of 1974, the Pakistan Penal Code of 1860, and the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1898, during a meeting held in Islamabad. The meeting, chaired by Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, also addressed other legal and administrative matters.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Cabinet Committee on Disposal of Legislative Cases also approved amendments to the Civil Servants Act of 1973 and the Immigration Rules of 1979. However, consideration of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (Amendment) Bill, 2026, was deferred to a later date. The meeting focused on reviewing and updating various legislative frameworks to align them with current needs and challenges.
