Azerbaijan Ambassador Meets Pakistan’s Climate Minister to Discuss Bilateral Relations and Joint Ventures


Islamabad: His Excellency Mr. Khazar Farhadov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, met with Dr. Musadik Malik, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, in Islamabad. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations, existing cooperation, and exploring opportunities for joint ventures.



According to Press Information Department, Dr. Musadik Malik highlighted Azerbaijan’s strategic significance as a partner for Pakistan, emphasizing the strong ties based on mutual trust, shared values, and regional connectivity. The Ambassador informed Dr. Malik about the upcoming World Urban Forum and discussed potential meetings with Azerbaijan’s Ministers of Energy and Ecology during Dr. Malik’s expected visit to Baku.



Ambassador Farhadov expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation among Pakistan, Türkiye, and Central Asian countries, noting that collaborative efforts could significantly impact regional economic growth. The discussion also covered increasing people-to-people exchanges and the potential for enhanced flight connectivity, given the high travel demand. Last year, approximately 120,000 Pakistani citizens received e-visas and ASAN visas for Azerbaijan, with around 90,000 visiting the country.



Tourism cooperation was another key topic, with Ambassador Farhadov highlighting Pakistan’s tourism potential. Dr. Malik noted that Pakistan could learn from Azerbaijan’s experience in tourism development, which could lead to substantial employment opportunities for Pakistani youth.
