APHC Calls for International Action on Kashmir Dispute Amid Global Peace Concerns

Srinagar, The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has urged the international community to intensify efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations resolutions. This call comes amid increasing concerns about a humanitarian crisis and threats to global peace, as reflected in the ongoing Palestine issue.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman issued a statement in Srinagar emphasizing that the Kashmir dispute remains one of the oldest unresolved issues on the UN agenda. The spokesman criticized the United Nations and world powers for either neglecting or deliberately ignoring the dispute.

The APHC pointed out the enforcement of stringent laws like the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), Public Safety Act (PSA), and Unlawful Act Prevention (UAPA) in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These laws are allegedly used to justify the killing, arrest, and terrorization of innocent Kashmiris. The statement highlighted that thousands of Kashmiri youth have been detained under suspicion of militancy and subjected to severe torture.

Despite India’s efforts to quell the freedom sentiment in Kashmir using various tactics, the APHC asserts that these efforts have been unsuccessful.
