Federal Minister Discusses Climate Collaboration with UN Official in Islamabad


Islamabad: Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, engaged in discussions with Mr. Mohamed Yahya, the Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator in the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation on climate resilience and disaster preparedness.



According to Press Information Department, Dr. Malik congratulated Mr. Yahya on his new role and acknowledged his previous contributions as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Pakistan. The meeting highlighted the United Nations’ role in supporting humanitarian efforts and strengthening resilience against climate-related disasters.



The dialogue emphasized collaboration between the Ministry and the United Nations system, focusing on sustainable development and humanitarian response. Both parties discussed priority areas for long-term collaboration and the development of a roadmap for future joint initiatives, while stressing the importance of engaging with provincial governments for effective program implementation.
