IGP Islamabad Orders Enhanced Security Measures with Advanced Technology


Islamabad: Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, convened a meeting with senior police officers to review the security situation in the federal capital. The discussion focused on strengthening law enforcement, preventing crime, and enhancing measures to protect citizens’ lives and property.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting involved a comprehensive review of existing security arrangements, including the protection of sensitive locations, security of key installations, patrolling mechanisms, and rapid response systems. The use of modern technology to enhance policing and security operations was also emphasized.



IGP Rizvi instructed officers to utilize all available resources to improve the security framework, given the current security challenges. He stressed the importance of safeguarding citizens’ lives and property as the primary responsibility of the Islamabad Police. Officers were urged to perform their duties with professionalism and dedication.



Security measures are to be bolstered at city entry and exit points, major highways, public places, commercial centers, places of worship, and other sensitive installations. Patrolling and checking mechanisms are to be upgraded in line with modern policing standards.



The IGP highlighted the importance of technological advancements, calling for the greater use of surveillance systems, digital monitoring, secure communication networks, and data-driven policing. This approach aims to ensure timely crime prevention, effective monitoring of suspicious activities, and a swift response to emergencies.



Coordination among field formations is to be strengthened, with an emphasis on timely information sharing and a unified operational strategy. Continuous monitoring and evaluation of security arrangements are also required. The meeting underscored the importance of courteous public interaction, professional conduct, and prompt citizen assistance.



Reaffirming the commitment to proactive and community-oriented policing, IGP Rizvi stated that measures will continue to be implemented to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property, maintaining a safe and secure environment in the federal capital.
