ISLAMABAD: A recent survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan shows that only 14% of Pakistanis have heard of cryptocurrency, highlighting a significant awareness gap in the country. The survey results indicate a stark contrast between urban and rural areas, with urban awareness at 22% and notably higher familiarity among respondents with education levels of FA and above, at 44%.
According to Gilani Research Foundation, the survey, which is nationally representative, involved 780 adult respondents from various regions across Pakistan. The research was conducted using telephonic surveys between January 15 and February 3, 2026, with an error margin of ± 2-3 percent at a 95% confidence level. The survey’s findings suggest that despite the growing global focus on cryptocurrencies, the concept remains largely unfamiliar to the majority of the Pakistani population, as 83% of those surveyed reported a lack of awareness.
