Islamabad: Pakistan continues to play a critical role in the diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran, with both nations remaining engaged in sensitive negotiations despite recent military escalations in the Gulf region. Former Pakistan envoy Sardar Masood Khan highlighted the ongoing peace process during a televised interview, noting the challenges posed by recent attacks near Bandar Abbas and Kish Island.
According to Radio Pakistan, Khan emphasized that Islamabad maintains the trust of both Washington and Tehran, facilitating dialogue to prevent the collapse of negotiations. He pointed out that Pakistan is handling this responsibility with caution and strategic patience, underscoring the nation’s commitment to preserving regional stability.
Khan remarked that both Tehran and Washington are interested in avoiding another military confrontation and are working towards a framework for de-escalation. He expressed optimism that the parties involved would achieve an understanding, advancing towards a sustainable diplomatic settlement through dialogue and compromise.
