LAHORE: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability, and strong financial governance as vital components for sustainable economic growth, investor confidence, and resilience.
According to Radio Pakistan, speaking at the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) Conference in Lahore, Dar emphasized the significant impact that digital technologies have on the accounting profession, urging adaptation to evolving global trends. He outlined Pakistan’s economic potential, stating that strategic reforms, regional connectivity, fiscal discipline, and institutional strengthening are key to positioning Pakistan as a robust and sustainable economy.
Moreover, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed Pakistan’s positive role in fostering regional peace, stability, dialogue, and economic cooperation. Dar underscored the importance of regional collaboration through SAFA, youth empowerment, and the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to implementing reforms aimed at promoting efficiency, accountability, sustainable development, and shared prosperity.
On a congratulatory note, Dar commended the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants Pakistan for its 75 years of excellence in advancing the accounting and finance profession and its contributions to institutional development in Pakistan.
