Special Representative Ashrafi Affirms Constitutional Rights of Minorities in Pakistan

Karachi, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, Special Representative to the Caretaker Prime Minister, emphasized that the constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights to all minorities. His remarks came during his visit to a church in Karachi, underscoring the state’s constitutional responsibility to protect every citizen regardless of their religious affiliation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ashrafi’s visit to the church was a gesture of solidarity with the Christian community. During the visit, he reiterated the state’s commitment to ensuring the safety and rights of all minorities as enshrined in the Pakistani constitution.

Bishop Frederick, who was present during the visit, expressed his gratitude to the Special Representative for his visit. He highlighted the Christian community’s respect for all religions and faiths, reflecting the ethos of mutual respect and coexistence.
