Karachi: Inspector General (IG) Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, chaired a key meeting at the Central Police Office Karachi to discuss ongoing measures against the drug mafia and efforts to arrest wanted and fugitive suspects in the divisions of Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Shaheed Benazirabad.
According to Sindh Police, the meeting was attended by senior officials, including Additional IG Operations, and DIGs from various branches. DIGs from the three divisions, along with district SSPs, provided detailed briefings on their efforts to counter the drug mafia and the progress made in apprehending suspects.
IG Sindh instructed that the records of fugitive suspects, including case details, should be updated in the police station’s management system through the SSPs, ensuring that investigations are systematically recorded online. He emphasized the need for DIGs to update lists of drug mafia networks and strengthen their legal teams to address issues related to acquittals in drug cases.
The meeting concluded with a directive for officers to enhance vigilance and ensure thorough investigations and operations against those involved in drug trafficking.
