Lahore: Punjab Information and Culture Minister Azma Bokhari announced a significant drop in crime rates across the province, attributing the improvement to the strategic initiatives implemented by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. According to Chief Minister of Punjab, the province’s law and order situation has improved due to the effective strategies and policies employed by the administration.

Bokhari highlighted that the Crime Control Department (CCD) and the Punjab Police have been instrumental in this positive development. Their efforts have led to a marked reduction in minor crime incidents across various districts. In response to public confidence in the CCD, Chief Minister Nawaz has decided to elevate the department into a premier crime-fighting agency, aiming for more efficient action against criminal activities.

Bokhari noted that current indicators and crime statistics reflect successful governance and policy implementations. Furthermore, she underscored the government’s commitment to women’s safety, declaring it a top priority for Chief Minister Nawaz. The minister also revealed new directives for Punjab Police officers, mandating them to address citizens with respect, using titles such as “Sir” and “Janab,” to foster trust and respect between the police force and the community.
