Lahore: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, food items are being offered at subsidized rates in Sahulat Bazaars across the province. A recent survey indicates high levels of public satisfaction regarding both prices and quality.

According to a survey conducted by Directorate General Monitoring and Evaluation, 82 percent of prices in Sahulat Bazaars are below market rates, and 88 percent of consumers expressed satisfaction with the quality and freshness of products. Over 90 percent of shoppers appreciated the accessibility and safety of these bazaars.

The chief minister praised citizens for record purchases at Sahulat Bazaars and commended the administration, PERA force, and Suthra Punjab teams for their efforts in maintaining cleanliness, monitoring, and quality control. She also instructed authorities to establish additional Sahulat Bazaars in Lahore to further facilitate the public.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted the participation of 52.4 percent women in the “Sahulat on the Go” initiative as encouraging, congratulating Punjab Sahulat Bazaar Authority Chairman Afzal Khokhar for the initiative.

The survey report also indicated that 91 percent of vendors in conventional Sahulat Bazaars were satisfied with low stall rents, while over 85 percent of “Sahulat on the Go” dealers were content with affordable rental arrangements and infrastructural support. Overall, 72.6 percent of shoppers were men and 26.2 percent women.

Currently, 49 permanent Sahulat Bazaars operate across Punjab. In Lahore, 10 permanent Sahulat Bazaars and 15 “Sahulat on the Go” units are functioning, alongside 11 temporary Ramazan bazaars established across the province.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that relief should be visible, measurable, and accessible, noting that satisfaction levels exceeding 80 percent across all categories reflect genuine public benefit. She added that Sahulat Bazaars provide a structured business environment for small traders.
