Islamabad: The Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) has approved a series of reforms aimed at enhancing institutional capacity and employee welfare, as announced during its 33rd Board of Directors meeting held in Islamabad. The session was presided over by Khalid Hussain Magsi, Federal Minister for Science and Technology, with attendance from key officials including Shahid Iqbal Baloch, Federal Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Dr. Sayeda Zia Batool, Director General of PSQCA.

According to Press Information Department, the Board sanctioned initiatives to update PSQCA’s digital infrastructure, aiming to align the Authority with global standards and support the “Digital Pakistan” vision. Additionally, the meeting approved expanded health insurance and welfare benefits for PSQCA employees, underscoring a commitment to staff welfare and social security.

Federal Minister Magsi stressed the importance of implementing these measures swiftly and transparently, aligning them with the Prime Minister’s vision of improved governance and standardization. The focus was also placed on enhancing regulatory oversight and easing business operations for the local industry, ensuring consumer safety.

The Board Meeting signifies a strategic shift towards a more agile and technologically advanced Authority, poised to fulfill its mandate and contribute to Pakistan’s development agenda.
