Sindh IG Meets Crime Reporters to Strengthen Police-Media Relations

Karachi, A 10-member delegation from the Crime Reporters Association met with IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon to discuss fostering a more positive interaction between the media and police forces. This meeting, held at the Central Police Office Karachi, included discussions on the roles and challenges faced by crime reporters in the region.

According to Sindh Police, the meeting was chaired by the association’s President, Kashif Hashmi, and Secretary, Rehan Chishti, and included DIGIT and AIG Admin. The delegation briefed IG Memon on the Crime Reporters Association’s objectives, emphasizing its commitment to responsible journalism and enhancing public-police relations through initiatives like joint training programs and community policing.

IG Memon stressed the importance of a collaborative relationship between the media and police as essential for positive policing. He acknowledged the media’s role in uplifting police morale by highlighting their achievements and challenges, and advocated for joint efforts to combat the dissemination of fake news.
