KARACHI: The Sindh Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, has sanctioned a comprehensive array of policy reforms aimed at strengthening governance and public service delivery across the province. Key decisions include the revival of the deceased quota, empowering farmers through resource collectives, and expanding digital education initiatives.

According to Chief Minister Sindh, the cabinet session, held at CM House and attended by numerous provincial officials, reviewed and approved significant reforms in employment policy, agriculture, education, health, infrastructure, and financial governance. Among the notable measures, the cabinet decided to process deceased quota applications filed before September 2024, despite the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s previous ruling that had halted such practices.

In a move to enhance law enforcement infrastructure, the cabinet allocated land for a new police station and emergency camp at PS Khambra, Ghotki, with funding of approximately Rs125.611 million. Additionally, the cabinet sanctioned the release of Rs497.574 million for the upgradation of Rohri Railway Station, in collaboration with Pakistan Railways.

Further decisions included placing Lyari Naddi under the jurisdiction of TMC Lyari and approving a new mechanism for handling Letters of Credit through Sindh Bank Limited to ensure financial transparency. The cabinet also endorsed the performance evaluation of Sindh Bank’s governance structure, which received high marks for its leadership and oversight capabilities.

The cabinet approved formal recruitment rules for the Anti-Encroachment Force and passed the Sindh Farmers’ Agricultural Collectives Act, 2026, to promote modern agricultural practices. To foster digital skills, an MoU with Tech Valley Pakistan was approved to provide Google Career Certificate scholarships to students across 30 universities.

Health initiatives included an agreement with UNICEF for the provision of Multiple Micronutrient Supplements aimed at improving maternal nutrition, alongside the regularisation of Community Midwife Workers’ contracts. The cabinet’s decisions reflect a focused approach toward governance reforms, digital transformation, and investments in key sectors to enhance service delivery and public welfare across Sindh.
